The stake is a quest item used in the Vampire Slayer quest. It is received from Dr Harlow after giving him a beer, and it is used to deliver the final blow to Count Draynor. The player must have a hammer in their inventory and wield the stake when dealing the last hit in order to kill him and complete the quest. This removes a stake from their inventory. As stakes can not be obtained after the quest, players may make use of the drop trick to obtain multiple stakes, giving a beer to Dr Harlow each time.
